Crystal Owen & Paul Gorski

Our Story

I will never forget the first time I mentioned what a loyal gym participant Paul was to another instructor at the gym and how he came to all of the classes - she was quick to tell me that, the truth was that he only came to all of MY classes. That's when I realized there was something special about Paul. We then became friends and a source of support for each other. Soon to realize, we not only shared a lot in common but almost everything in common and we were in very similar places in life. We shared our goals: spiritually, financially, emotionally and physically and held each other accountable. We started the journey on finding a church home together that we were both comfortable with. We have found a sense of peace in the Lord and with each other that is indescribable. I know that we will have a long life of peace and happiness with the Lord as our cornerstone and the continued nurturing of the love we have for each other. I am marrying my best friend.

The Proposal:
It was a dream come true. Paul told me that we had to go to a work dinner/charity function at a local art center, he even got his boss involved to send an email confirming our plans with work. Very cute, huh? When we got to the art center, he said I think we are supposed to go in through the back (?), so of course I followed wondering why can't we just go through the front door like normal people..... when we got to the back he had my baby blanket that he ganked from my mom's house in Mississippi one weekend laid on the ground with rose petals, balloons and champagne - he immediately dropped to his knee and said so many amazing things (which, he told me later he wrote down about 10 times so that he wouldn't forget what to say) and he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes with complete and total peace about it. He then walked me over to another part of the art center/beautiful park and of all things I walked over to a HOT AIR BALLOON!!!! So, we then went on a hot air balloon ride around the area we live. Laughing the whole way, while Paul yelled down to people, "SHE SAID YES!"..... We landed the hot air balloon in the middle of a culdesac and as you could imagine - it caused such an uproar and had all the neighborhood outside, celebrating with us, offering us champagne and wine. We could not have landed around a cooler group of people (unless it was yall, of course!) Then from there Paul took me to one of my favorite restaurants. As soon as we got to the table we had all of my favorite (which happens to be his fav too) food brought to us and a bottle of wine. He did good, he did real good!

Genesis 2:18
The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

Our Wedding

We are aware of the economical status and are making every effort not to inconvenience our loved ones during this time, with that said we have decided to have a planned elopement. So, after much deliberation we have finally found a set of plans that we hope works (fingers crossed). We plan on getting married on a local dock to a beautiful lake on October 22, 2009. Then we plan on spending our wedding night together at The Ritz-Carlton in downtown Atlanta. We will take off on the morning of the 23rd and travel to Costa Rica and stay at an amazing villa resort, Buena Vista Luxury Villas Tulemar Beach. We have hired a photographer to capture some of our experiences while we are enjoying our honeymoon. We plan to stay there for 5 nights and enjoy the many adventures that Costa Rica offers.

A Special Message From Us

Paul and I would like to thank all of our family and friends. We have been through an emotional roller coaster over the past couple of years and without each of your love and support, we wouldn't have been able to comfortably move on to the next chapter in our lives. We feel so blessed to have such an amazing group of individuals we get to call our support system and most importantly we are so blessed to have the Lord in our lives to guide us closer to each of you.

Romans 12:9-10
"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves."
We love and honor each of you and are excited to share our special day with you. So, stay tuned for more information as we go along this journey....please be sure to check out our pictures!
